The Designs for the water distribution system of Kisinja headland development for Tullow Uganda Operations Ltd included drawings, bills of quantities, specifications and tender documentation for bidding. The project was divided into phases, with the first phase being construction of Kisinja pipe lay down area. Other phases include the contractor’s work yard, staff residential camp, water distribution and firefighting system, VIP accommodation facilities. The total cost of the project was estimated at US$1.2million. This amount allows for the construction of the above facilities excluding the VIP accommodation facilities. The population of the residential camp is estimated at about 350 people. The water distribution system will have an underground reservoir of 130m3 capacity and an elevated tank of 40m3 installed close together. The water in the underground reservoir will be treated before pumping into the elevated tank for domestic use. Water for firefighting will be pumped from the underground reservoir. Distribution pipes (HDPE) will be buried and will run from the reservoir to contractor’s work yard, drilling rig camp and the residential camp. There will be separate distribution system for the water distribution system and firefighting of 110mm and 150mm size diameter. Fire hydrants will be provided every 90m spacing in all directions covering the entire lay down, residential and contractor’s yard area. The contractor’s work yard will have washrooms and car washing facilities with proper waste water treatment provided. Sewage Treatment Plant is to be provided outside the fencing for treatment of waste water
