CNOOC is the Operator of the Kingfisher Discovery Area located in the Lake Albert region of Uganda and are engaged in the exploration and development of oil and natural gas in that area. In order to provide an enabling exploration and production environment, CNOOC Uganda Ltd has made an undertaking to fund the design and construction of the Proposed Access roads to Oil Facilities in the Kingfisher Discovery Area. CUL appointed and engaged MBW Consulting Ltd to undertake feasibility study and detailed engineering design of the link road from the existing public road on the top of the escarpment to the Kingfisher oil field and pads, termed the Kingfisher escarpment road. The proposed Kingfisher access road will subsequently provide access to the well pads, drilling Camp and Central Processing Facility.

Our Roles

• Feasibility Study, including alignment route options study for the Escarpment and In-field access roads
• Preliminary and Detailed topographic surveys
• Geotechnical and materials investigations, hydrological investigations and analysis of selected route corridors
• Environmental impact scoping and management plan in accordance with NEMA guidelines;
• Detailed engineering design of all roads (geometric and pavement designs), bills of quantities and cost estimates
• Preparation of EPC tender documents based on the approved detailed designs prepared following CNOOC requirements for international competitive bidding
• Tender action and technical support during the EPC bid process
• Preparation of Scope of Work for Construction supervision
• Preparation and submission of reports at each stage
